
Loretta Faye Baker is a native Texan who moved to Kentucky from Illinois. She graduated from Lake Forest College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and met her late husband, Robert. They have 2 adult daughters and 1 awesome grandson. Loretta has experience in sales, training, operations, and management across a wide range of financial and social services. She retired from the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training as a Regional Trade Facilitator.
Rev. Baker is an author, an Ordained Elder, and a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist. She earned a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry in Missions, Evangelism, and Black Church Leadership. Dr. Baker is a preacher and Christian educator with a call to grief care and a heart for ministry to women. She developed Bible studies and grief care courses that connect biblical knowledge with contemporary concerns, equipping individuals, churches, and communities to become places of hope and healing.

Her first book entitled Transformational Grief in the Book of Job was released in May of 2023. The companion workbook is coming soon. Along with Bible studies about Bible women, Dr. Baker is the author of numerous Bible based articles to show the relevance of Scripture.
Rev. Dr. Baker provides grief care workshops in person and online. In April of 2023, her husband of 51 years unexpectedly passed away. By requests, she is developing a new series of courses to support and encourage those who are grieving the loss of a spouse or significant other.
